Story behind DhaxalReeb
Somalia heavily invested in the development of its professional work-force in the 50 years preceding the civil war that engulfed the country 30 years ago. abruptly disbanded by the mayhem of the 1990s. these professionals fled to all corners of the world my died in exile few remained in the county during the difficult times. today many from the diaspora have permanently returned to their roots or regularly visit the country.
in addition to the schooled elites, Somalia is endowed with untapped indigenous expertise in various fields of practical significance. particularly in social Medicinal and ecological studies this potential value of the traditional is exemplified by the postulation made by Somalis on the link b/w malaria and insects prior to the scientific community's findings on the subject.
Making A Difference
Devoted educators and entrepreneurs were visionary enough not to wait for the guns to fall silent in order to educated our children and youth. thanks to their foreign and courage in the face of extraordinary challenges. today we have young professionals in all disciplines. some of them are brilliants and have performed well in world class standard competitions. it leaves us to wonder about their potential had they studied in more favorable environment. The relatively young history of our revived tertiary education. less than two decade old. our course has an impact on the quality of the education we are offering our boys and girls. there fledgling institutions face constraints in academic teaching. research and publications.

Our Plan
DhaxalReeb uniquely focuses inter-generational linkages though research and capacity building. it fulfills its mission though:
- Undertaking in depth interviews of professionals and indigenous knowledge experts that are video recorded
- Publishing biographies and transcripts of interviews
- Publishing research work from inter-generational collaborative research initiatives
- Holding re roundtable discussions and expert panels on critical themes
- Organizations annual conferences
- Organizing capacity building training programs and holding social events for professional networking.

In 3-5 years time Dhaxalreeb will regard its work as success if it has achieved the following:
1) Saved from loss the tacit knowledge of 1000 professionals and traditional
practitioners and collected 200 historical documents to be used for research, academic and planning purposes.
2) Encouraged widespread interest among the young for studying the lives and experiences of older generations.
3) Established clusters of Dhaxalreeb-linked platforms cooperating on inter-generational linkages.
4) Dhaxalreeb publications and collected historical documents used for research, academic and development planning purposes.
5) Inspired and committed young professionals that are better educated on their country's history and its professional achievements.

money solicited from donors we trust in the people and count on a satisfactory response to Dhaxalreeb's fundraising initiatives we specifically appeal to Somali philanthropists who have shown, through their track record , that they value civil
engagement to invest in this institution which belongs to all Somalia.
